Especially if Power Girl's astral punches can still allow her to move into people's minds and help them work through their trauma. Power Girl's wealth of experience confronting tragedy and trauma coupled with Omen's abilities still make them perfect for the job. This was a clever direction for both characters. Omen and Power Girl continuing their friendship going forward also sets the stage for them to continue working together as superhero therapists. Power Girl being a more active part of the Superman family could add more powerhouses to this corner of the universe, and helps expand one of DC's most powerful collections of heroes. Her unique relationship with Supergirl could definitely deserve further exploration. This means that going forward, Power Girl might have a better connection with the rest of the Superman family, allowing her to appear more regularly alongside the other heroes. Power Girl's new status quo is a lot of positive development for the character, as it confirms that she's finally accepted the loss of Earth-2 and what that means for her. But after reaffirming their deep and continuing friendship, Power Girl realizes that her fists still carry their astral aspect, meaning she can still seemingly punch her way across minds and dimensions. Empowered by a piece of the Astral Plane embedded in her mind during the events of Lazarus Planet, channeling it against Johnny Sorrow seemingly removes her telepathic connection to Omen. Initially, the triumph over Johnny Sorrow seems to have cost Power Girl the new psychic dimensions to her powers. As a sign of this connection, Supergirl's pet, Streaky the Super-Cat, comes to live with her. Defeating three of the Horsemen herself and bringing down Sorrow, Power Girl reunites with the Superman family and gets a new status quo laid out for her.įor one, Power Girl finally makes peace with Supergirl and the rest of the family, and is accepted with open arms.
But Power Girl perseveres and even overcomes her own feelings of grief to rise up against the villain.
Alongside his Four Horsemen, the populace of the DC Universe finds themselves increasingly under their mysterious thrall. Revealing his obsession with Power Girl due to their similar feelings of isolation and sadness across dimensions, Johnny's newest attempt to steal her heart almost dooms the DC Universe in the process. Power Girl has been recently wrestling with her place in the DC Universe, just as things took a dark turn with the return of Johnny Sorrow.
